Microsoft has published the latest installment in its series of glimpses at the new features of its Office 2008 for Mac productivity suite. The latest news is that the new versions of PowerPoint and Word will offer "simplified ways to share and manage projects." These include integration with Apple's iLife application, iPhoto and Apple's iPod.
Office 2008 lets users share presentations from their Macs to their iPods. By enabling users to save slide shows to iPhoto, PowerPoint makes it easy to deliver mobile presentations from them, saving these as either a PNG or JPEG file for transfer to an iPod to enable portable pitches, proposals and presentations. PowerPoint 2008 is also compatible with the Apple Remote control.
Word 2008 gains Notebook Layout View improvements, adding the ability to customize workspaces with different backgrounds and to use color-coded tabs while taking notes.
